“It’s not often that a young nonprofit like us, founded in 2020, is able to finance a project of this size,” says Bosko. “We’re very thankful to Community Bank of the Bay for taking a chance on HiiiWav and being part of the success story in this community.”

In the heart of Oakland, where creativity, technology, and innovation intersect, HiiiWav is redefining what it means to be an artist entrepreneur. Founded by Bosko Conte, this music incubator is not just helping to make music—it’s about encouraging Black artists to build and grow businesses while leveraging advanced technology.

By treating each artist as a startup, HiiiWav equips them with entrepreneurial skills and business acumen to build wealth and achieve stability beyond the unpredictable nature of the music industry. “We push and teach artists about the latest technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality,” says Bosko.

When HiiiWav needed a new headquarters to expand its mission, Community Bank of the Bay (CBB) stepped in. With our support, HiiiWav secured a loan to purchase their building at 2781 Telegraph Avenue, creating a space where artists can perform, collaborate, and innovate. “It’s not often that a young nonprofit like us, founded in 2020, is able to finance a project of this size,” says Bosko. “We’re very thankful to Community Bank of the Bay for taking a chance on HiiiWav and being part of the success story in this community.”

The relationship between CBB and HiiiWav extends beyond financing and into a partnership built on trust. “We have our accounts [at CBB], and whenever we need to do transactions, we know we’re more than just a number,” Bosko shares. “It’s important to have a bank partner like CBB that you can talk to on a first-name basis and help you move your project forward.”

The collaboration has already yielded success stories, such as the first annual HiiiWav Fest, a celebration of Black music and technology that attracted over 1,000 attendees. Moving forward, HiiiWav plans to expand its programs and events, continuing to uplift Oakland’s creative scene. With the ongoing support of CBB, they aim to inspire more artists to pursue entrepreneurial paths and create enduring economic impact in the Bay Area.
